Brian Husowitz

Founder & Chief Executive Officer


Brian is the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Andus Health Benefits. Brian spent over a decade as an accomplished benefits broker advising publicly traded and large privately held companies how to contain the cost of their health insurance programs. From that experience, Brian developed a deep understanding of the key components of a benefit plan, how to navigate insurance markets effectively, and how to utilize data to improve outcomes.

Sensing a significant void in the marketplace where small business owners were in a constant struggle to mitigate ever increasing costs, Brian left the broker world behind, took a leap of faith, and started Andus Health Benefits from an office in his basement.

Fast forward from humble beginnings until now, Andus is thriving with 15 employees and a new state of the art office in Conshohocken, Pa. Brian attributes the rapid growth of Andus to a unique and proven purchasing model centered on the needs of each individual client. Working directly for clients and not insurance carriers or agencies effectively aligns our incentive system with our clients, thereby eliminating many of the conflicts of interest and lack of transparency that exist in the carrier-broker model. We are proud to say that we disrupt the status quo and deliver results in a world where employers have been conditioned to accept poor outcomes. Brian resides in Conshohocken, Pa with his wife Bridget and their three sons. Fun Fact: Serves as General Manager to several fantasy football and baseball teams.

Anthony Martinelli

President


Anthony is the President of Andus Health Benefits. Anthony has spent many years as a successful financial advisor working with business owners to implement strategies to improve their bottom line. Anthony’s unique understanding of the balancing act of entrepreneurs to offer robust benefit plans while continuing to invest in their businesses and remain profitable led him to Andus Health Benefits.

Viewing the employee benefit plan through a different lens that incorporates elements of finance and the use of data to customize benefits enables Andus to deliver a powerful alternative path to employers disenchanted with the current process of purchasing healthcare.

Included in Anthony’s day to day responsibilities is parlaying the company’s vision into tangible deliverables that enhance the Andus client experience as well as the execution of Andus key growth initiatives. Anthony currently resides in Glen Mills, Pa with his wife Margarita and their four children. Fun Fact: Coached a Pennsylvania state championship Little League Team in 2008

Mike Christian

COO & VP of Finance, Partner


Mike is the Chief Operating Officer and Vice President of Finance for Andus Health Benefits. His responsibilities include managing the day to day operations at Andus as well as oversight of all financial functions. Mike has played an instrumental role in developing some of company’s key intellectual property including the company’s custom monthly and quarterly reporting packages that are delivered to all of the Andus clients. Prior to joining Andus, Mike worked in many actuarial roles for over 30 years in the Property & Casualty industry for Colonial Penn, Philadelphia Reinsurance, PMA Reinsurance and Towers Watson. Mike lives in Churchville, Pa and has two children. Fun Fact: Mike is an avid fan of soccer and craft beer.

Herman Chen

Partner & Vice President of Account Management


Herman is a partner and the Vice President of Account Management for Andus Health Benefits. Herman brings with him more than twenty years of management experience dating back to his first venture as a Manhattan Bagel Franchisee at 23 years old.

Herman’s responsibilities currently include overseeing the onboarding and implementation of new clients as well as managing the relationships of the firms existing clients. He currently leads the Andus Client Experience Committee which meets on a regular basis to strategize ways that Andus can continue to add value to its existing customers.

Herman was a long time wrestling coach at Central Bucks East and continues to volunteer his time as a coach with the Princeton Wrestling Club. He resides in Jamison, Pa with his wife Colleen and their two children. Fun Fact: Herman loves golf and is a member at the Ace Club.

Sal Valenti

Partner & Director of Underwriting


Sal is the Director of Underwriting for Andus Health Benefits. Prior to joining Andus, Sal served as a Senior Analyst at SEI Investments in Oaks, Pa. Sal’s responsibilities include managing the stop-loss insurance procurement process, actuarial analysis, accrual development, funding rates, financial reporting, and IBNR reporting. In addition, Sal maintains key insurance carrier and vendor relationships.

Sal graduated from St. John’s University in NYC with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Finance. Sal currently resides in Manayunk, Pa with his fiance’, Cyndy, and their daughter Gracelyn. Fun Fact: Sal and Cyndy are expecting a baby boy on the fall of 2018.

Jennifer McSherry

Vice President of Account Management, Partner


Jen is the Vice President of Account Management for Andus Health Benefits. Prior to joining Andus, Jen worked for one of the leading health insurance consulting firms in Washington, DC. Jen enjoys building long-term relationships with her clients and partnering with them to create effective and valued employee benefit programs. She has proven experience in strategic benefit design, carrier negotiations, plan implementations, and financial reporting. Jen graduated from Penn State University with a degree in Health Policy and Administration. She has also earned the Compensation Management Specialist (CMS) and the Group Benefits Associate (GBA) designations. Jen currently resides in Horsham, Pa with her husband Alex. Fun Fact: Jen has been known to skydive.

William Medico

Principal


William is currently a Principal with Andus Health Benefits. As a financial advisor to closely held businesses, William has over 16 years of experience in helping companies better manage their bottom line. He currently oversees a successful financial advisory firm and serves as a strategic advisor to Andus in helping the company execute on its key growth initiatives. William has a degree in finance from Villanova University. He currently resides in Glen Mills, Pa with his wife Silvana and their two children. Fun Fact: William is an avid golfer and member at Applebrook Golf Club

Mike Simon

Senior Advisor


Mike is a Senior Advisor for Andus Health Benefits. He provides Human Resources and Operational guidance, as well as a client perspective to the executive team of Andus. Mike brings over 30 years of experience in Human Resources, Employee Benefits, and Operations to the Andus team. Prior to joining Andus, Mike was a Senior Consultant at the Hays Company. His career experience includes Human Resources Vice President at The Vitamin Shoppe and A&P Supermarkets, as well as Human Resources Director at PetsMart and Circuit City. Mike has 3 children and resides in Ocean City, NJ with his wife Gail. Fun Fact: Mike and his wife are avid Pickle Ball players.

Patrick Finnegan

Senior Associate


Pat is a Senior Associate at Andus Health Benefits. Pat is a 2016 graduate of Temple University. His responsibilities at Andus include direct supervision of the Benefits Specialist team, building and maintain client relationships, managing third party administration vendors, and plan enrollment administration. Pat currently resides in the Fairmount section of Philadelphia. Fun Fact: Pat is major fan of all Philly sports teams.

Kristin Facinelli

Office Manager


Kristin is the office manager at Andus Health Benefits. Her responsibilities include managing day to day operations at Andus including accounts payable and receivables as well as key vendor management. Kristin was instrumental in planning and executing the company’s recent move to its new state of the art facility in Conshohocken, Pa. Kristin is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh. She currently resides in Roxborough, Pa with her husband Tom and their two boys. Fun Fact: Kristin is on the board of The Monster Milers which has a partnership with animal shelters in Philadelphia. She volunteers her time to take dogs out for runs around the city so they can expend energy and become more adoptable.

Samantha Trafford

Compliance & Analytics Specialist


Sam currently serves as the Compliance and Analytics Specialist for Andus Health Benefits. Sam is a key member of the Andus finance team and her responsibilities include overseeing the creation and delivery of the Andus monthly and quarterly client reporting packages as well as assisting with the placing of client stop-loss contracts. Sam has a degree in Health Sciences from James Madison University. She currently resides in Phoenixville, Pa. Fun Fact: Sam studied abroad in Barcelona, Spain.

Thomas Olsen

Benefits Specialist


Tom currently serves as a Benefits Specialist for Andus Health Benefits. His day to day responsibilities include managing eligibility related matters, building and managing client portals, ACA tracking, and compliance reporting. Tom has worked full time at Andus for over a year while also pursuing his business management degree from Temple University where he will graduate in December of 2018. He currently resides in Levittown, Pa. Fun Fact: Tom will be the first person in his family to earn a college degree.

Alivia Adams

Benefits Specialist


Alivia currently serves as a Benefits Specialist for Andus Health Benefits. Her day to day responsibilities include client open enrollment meetings, claims review, creating and delivering the Andus monthly and quarterly client reporting packages, and the creation of client benefit guides. Alivia has a Marketing Degree from Bloomsburg University. Fun Fact: Studied abroad in Barcelona, Spain and has traveled to 10 different countries.

Pat Masi

Finance and Analytics Specialist


Pat currently serves as the Finance and Analytics Specialist for Andus Health Benefits. Pat is a key member of the Andus finance team and his responsibilities include reviewing and distributing monthly report cards, tracking and obtaining reimbursements, financial reporting, and assisting with the stop-loss insurance procurement process.

Pat has a degree in Finance and Financial Planning from Temple University Fox School of Business. He currently resides in Wyncote, PA. Fun fact: Pat plays in men’s soccer, flag football, and slow-pitch softball leagues.
